5 TIPS TO GET THE MOST OUT OF YOUR HIT

Vaping best practices

Maybe your preferred way of consuming cannabis is vaping, or you’re curious about what the benefit of vaping dry herb might be. This article will break down the top 5 ways to get the best hit from your vaporizer, whether you're a pro or not.

1. Best way to store your cannabis stash

Dry bud can be difficult to work with. It’s best to keep your flower stored in an airtight container with a humidity control pack. Cannabis should be stored away from direct sunlight since UV light will break down THC, making your weed weaker! Generally, your flower will be best if stored between 58-62% humidity. Storage should always be in a cool, dark place, but not with your condiments or frozen dinners. One easy option for optimal storage of your bud is getting some tinted stash jars, and using Boveda humidity packs to maintain the perfect humidity for that lush kush, all available at Oakridge Cannabis.

2. Best way to grind your weed

Grinding is essential to get the best vaping experience. A larger surface area means the heat can better release all the good stuff. We are, of course, talking about cannabidiol (CBD) and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). However, a grind that is too fine can hinder airflow, so make sure you are using a grinder that keeps your flower at a semi-course consistency. This also means that your flower won’t be fine enough to pass through the screen, meaning more to vape.

3. Best temperature to paporize weed

The best temperature for vaporizing your flower will vary, but it is recommended to use 200 degrees Celsius for most cases to properly release most of the cannabidiol (CBD) and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). Although temperature points can vary for what effect you are wanting, lower temps give better flavour (highlighted in the poster below) while higher temps will create thicker vapor. CBD vaporizes at 180 degrees Celsius while THC vaporizes at 157 degrees Celsius. For vaping, it is recommended to work at a minimum temperature of 180 degrees Celsius to get the most out of your weed.

4. Wait for the good stuff

Your vaporizer may have hit the optimal temperature, but the bowl itself won’t get there until some heat has already passed through. A fan-assist mode works best for this, turning it on and waiting until you can see vapor before attempting to use your bag or take a draw from the device. Smaller, handheld units will need you to draw a few breaths before the good stuff is finally released.

5. Keep it clean

Keeping your rig in the best condition can include cleaning it regularly. Isopropyl alcohol is the best way to break down cannabis resin that has built up from your smoke sessions. You can also find single-use wipes that will work to disinfect your device, sold at Oakridge Cannabis.

Hopefully, these tips will help you get the best hit out of your flower! Give them a try on your next smoke sesh or look into a new device to vape cannabis. Either way, make sure to consume your cannabis responsibly.
